Terms & Conditions for Caravans

These terms and conditions apply to all Sparta Care Ltd contracts. Sparta Care Ltd is a company registered in England under the company number 15776690 whose registered office is at 21 Heron Walk, North Hykeham, Lincoln, LN6 9TR. Telephone number 07384501932

The term ‘customer’ means the person whose name is on the quote, appointment, contract or invoice.

1. First Service

Before we can confirm if we can cover you, we must carry out an initial service to check that your system does not have any pre-existing faults. This is free and includes a full inspection of your system, a service and an anti-freeze check to verify if the correct quantity of 20% of glycol is in the system. We cannot offer our care plan until the first service has been completed and we agree for the contract to commence. If we find that your system has some pre-existing faults, we will provide you with a quotation for how much it will be for this work to be carried out. We will not start the care contract until this work has been completed by us or a qualified third party. We reserve the right to continue the Sparta Care Ltd cover with you for any other reason at our discretion.

2. Quotations

All quotations are accepted on these terms and conditions unless agreed in writing and signed by the customer and an authorised person on behalf of Sparta Care Ltd. By placing an order with us, you are accepting these terms and conditions and a legally binding contract will be formed. Quotations are valid for 30 days and subject to withdrawal at any time before receipt of acceptance from the customer. The price quoted is on a timescale rate. If extra work is required or the work runs over due to circumstances beyond our control, an extra charge may be applied.

3. Charges

Charges apply to any work completed by Sparta Care Ltd outside of the service contract. Sparta Care Ltd charge per hour, we do not charge per minute. All charges are based on labour, travel, running costs, administrative costs, insurance and qualification costs, making it possible to provide the best possible service.

4. Term

The contract will begin on the start date specified on the service agreement and it will continue for a minimum term of 12 months from that date. After the 12 months, the contract will be automatically renewed for a further minimum term of 12 months, unless cancelled or terminated during the cooling off period. After the expiry of the minimum term, we reserve the right to adjust our service fee and will give you no less than 30 days notice of any change in price, to allow you to cancel. If the property or any equipment changes during the minimum term, or any renewed term, please notify us as soon as possible. The required changes will be added to the Contract at our discretion and if we accept this, we will issue the amended Contract to you with notification of any revised Service Fee and payment terms. If you move to a new Property, you need to tell us as soon as possible. We may start a new Contract, transfer your current Contract to your new address or cancel it, at our discretion.

5. Fees and Payment

The care plan payment is due on the agreed day each month. Any work needed which is not covered by Sparta Care Ltd package, will be quoted for and you will need to accept in writing before the work can start. If we send you an invoice, you must pay this within 7 days. If your payment is late, including if a Direct Debit payment does not go through on time, we may charge you interest for each day the payment is late, until we receive it. Interest will be calculated at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate. If your payment is late, we may also stop providing our services to you until we have received it. A late payment fee of £40 may also be added to enable us to cover the costs of recovering the payment.

6. Cancellation

If our engineers arrive and there is nobody home/a key is not available, the engineer will wait 15 minutes over the arranged time. Should nobody be home, or the appointment has not been cancelled before our visit, there will be a missed appointment charge of £50 to cover the fuel, labour and administration fees involved with getting each engineer on site at the specified time.

7. Servicing

A professional inspection and maintenance of your boiler system. A gas safe registered engineer carries this out and involves cleaning, safety checks and ensuring all components work efficiently. If necessary, worn parts might need replacing during a boiler service to keep your boiler running smoothly

8. Emergency Repairs

Include all parts, labour and materials required to resolve an emergency at your property, subject to any exclusions set out in this document. We aim to respond to all emergency repairs within 24 hours. If this takes any longer, for any unforeseen circumstances, we will keep you informed.

9. Replacement Boiler

If your boiler is beyond repair and it is under 7 years of age, then we will replace it for free. This does not include the installation costs of a new boiler which are £1200.

10. Boiler and Controls

These are covered with all of our care plans. With all of our service plans we provide you with an annual service. We will repair the boiler on your property, that’s designed for home use and has a heat output capacity of up to 70kw; the flue including the flue terminal up to one meter in length; the controls that make the boiler work, including the programmer, thermostats, motorised zone valves and central heating pump.

Items which are not covered are any network hub, smart speaker or voice controlled equipment or any smart functionality e.g. connectivity from your thermostat to your mobile device; replacing or topping up your system inhibitor/anti-freeze, unless we removed it; any part of your boiler & controls which directly supply a swimming pool; resetting your controls or replacing the batteries, repairing or replacing your central heating system.

11. Central Heating

This is covered with our Boiler & Heating care plan. We cover all repairs to the heat and hot water system on your property including; the expansion tank, radiators, bypass, radiator valves, cylinders, immersion heater and its wired in timer switch, the pipes that connect the central heating system. We will also replace parts of your central heating system if we can’t repair them.

Items which are not covered include damage caused by limescale, sludge & other debris if we’ve told you it needs a power flush or similar process but you haven’t done so, fixing showers, repairing or replacing taps, supply of curved or designer radiators, repair/replacement of electrical elements in radiators, replacing or topping up your system inhibitor/anti-freeze unless we remove it. In the event of central heating pressure loss and repeated top ups diluting the system, without notifying Sparta Care Ltd, we exclude the anti-freeze top ups.

12. Plumbing

This is covered with our Boiler, Heating and Plumbing care plan. We cover the hot and cold water pipes internal to your home between the stopcock and your taps/appliances. This includes; flexible connections, toilet siphons, isolation, ball and radiator valves; replacement parts if we can’t repair. Items which are not covered include showers and their parts, sanitary ware, seals, grouting, water pipes that don’t supply your caravan/park home, parts designed to boost water pressure, water meters, water softeners, filters, taps that deliver filtered water, plumbing in outbuildings, pipes between your property and outbuildings, any damage arising from frost whether occupied or not drained down.

13. Drain down/Spring reconnection

You must notify Sparta Care Ltd when you have a vacation date, to enable us to drain down your caravan/park home. Sparta Care Ltd will drain down your property to ensure no frost damage during the winter months. Sparta Care Ltd requires a minimum of 7 days notice, to attend on a specified date to reconnect and check your caravan ready for your return. Water, unless otherwise specified, will be turned off at the stop tap.
